AUGUSTA- The Maine Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Labor are co-hosting the two-day conference, Maine Values Veterans: Employment and Community Engagement, to share best practices and engage the various agencies tasked with connecting veterans with employment in Maine.
Joining Commissioner of Labor Jeanne Paquette, First Lady Ann LePage will offer welcoming remarks. Travis Mills, president of Travis Mills Group LLC and a retired U.S. Army Staff Sargent and wounded warrior, will present the keynote address.
"This important gathering focuses on how we in the state of Maine can do a better job serving those who have served our country-our veterans," said Commissioner of Labor Jeanne Paquette. "Their hard work and sacrifice must be acknowledged with our best efforts-it is only right and just that we honor them by doing the best we can to bring them home, provide a supported transition to civilian life and link them with a good job with a career ladder."
